MagneticMediaFed is DOWN
I'm in the process of updating my servers (I think), and thus
MagneticMediaFed is currently down. Please do not panic... like me. In theory this should resolve itself by the end of the day. IN THEORY.
New mix for summer.
If you look to the right (assuming you're reading this post some time in the spring of 2007), you should see a new section called "Listen" (if it isn't there, try scrolling down as I'm still trying to work out the kinks on this page). There you will see a mix entitled "Live Free or Die Hardish." Below that is the track listen and a link to download the whole thing (with M3U file for iTunes).

If only they could somehow harness all of the seasons at once!
While watching MLB extra innings last night (and drinking the delicious
Samuel Adams White Ale -- which is the spring entry in their seasonal collection), I said to my roommate, "All of these seasonal beers are so good, why can't their regular blend be as tasty?" This isn't a knock against Samuel Adams as a label. As far as domestic, average brands are considered, it's probably my favorite, but still they clearly know how to make a good beer, why relegate the best to the four seasons. White Ale is like the McRib or Shamrock Shake of the beer world.
If I were to start my own brewery, the gimmick would be our willingness to make "Winter Brews" all year long. Our label would be called "Rick's Timelessness" and the bottle would be mirrored.

Finally embracing Flickr with my big ol' sweaty mitts
I've been
a Flickr member for years, though I've finally decided to embrace the technology whole-heartedly. Take, for example, the photostream to the left (which took me about three hours to get working --
Thanks, new Blogger!!). It is chalk full of pictures from my recent trip to Florda for Mets spring training.
Expect more photos in the near future because... well, why the hell not. It's free.

Back in the saddle.
Well, after a brief
hiatus I appear to be back. Better than ever? Eh. Likely not. Though back nonetheless. The name has changed (kinda) and so has the address (especially). As for content, well we'll play that by ear. Expect this space to evolve over the next couple months as I decide what exactly should take up this space on a more permanent basis. Until then, check here for antics not relating to television. Those will still be found
here.

Labored Day
I'm at work right now. So that's something, right? Something worthy of posting to this web log? Right?
In other news, I've spent the past few days trying to rationalize spending half of my income and several thousand up-front dollars on a lush new apartment. I decided against it. Probably for the better. The hunt goes on.
In YET OTHER news, I've been unable to do anything substantive in terms of "projects" or "television watching" or "the like." But I did see the first hour of "Prison Break" which was decent, the most recent eps of "Weeds" and "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" which were sub-par until the last 40 seconds which were remarkable, and hillariously on-par, respectably.
I have nothing else to post right now... RIGHT NOW.

More reasons why Entourage is a horribly scripted show
Last night I checked out #213, which aired this past Sunday, and it was absolutely remarkable. It was easily the best episode of the entire series, and really could hold its own against the best episodes from all of television. But that's the problem. Its insane to throw "conflict" into a conflict-free season with one episode left to air. The reason you write narrative arcs is to maximize the payoffs. This should have been the payoff episode, but instead it was all set-up. Even if next weeks conveniently wraps everything up (which I expect it to, given the series track record), there wasn't enough build-up to make it anything more than "so-so." Which is a damn shame, because this episode was just fantastic. They should drop the "entourage" part of the story and just make it about Ari. Now, that would be a show.
